This fully accessible colorful playground is the third largest playground in Mississippi. The playground is designed with all physical abilities in mind. The $660,000 park was funded by a BP grant an includes new restrooms and tennis courts.

The Crosby Arboretum is a 104 acre native plant conservatory operated by Mississippi State University Extension services. The Pinecote Pavilion is an architectural masterpiece designed in perfect attunement to the natural surroundings.

Inside of the Picayune Train Depot, one can find the interesting history of Picayune and how it was shaped around the railroad. An original Shay locomotive engine in on display under a protective canopy along with other antique railroad items that show the logging history of Picayune. Nearby green space, benches and picnic area are shaded by oaks and often host festivals and farmers' markets during the year.

The Hermitage is one of the oldest structures in the area dating back to the mid-1800's. The large property holds a cemetery of early Picayune pioneers. It was built by Stephen Jarrell, one of the first inhabitants of Picayune.

The Picayune Carver Culture Center highlights Black History and offers opportunities for educational and artistic enrichment. The museum covers 3 areas, the History of George Washington Carver High School - from 1943-1970, a Picayune Section which highlights the accomplishments of African-Americans of Picayune and a tribute of Black History.

This private museum houses over 15,000 teddy bears and has historical information about how the Teddy Bear began with Theodore Roosevelt in Mississippi. The museum has an ice-cream and coffee shop and indoor play areas. See more at:
